Asbestos is a harmful substance found in many different building materials from the 1980s that can be easily released into the air, inhaled, and lodged in your lungs to cause a variety of health conditions and concerns. If your house was built before 1985, there is a likely chance that you have asbestos in your home, and you will want to have the materials safely removed to avoid any exposure and health risks. You can have your home inspected for asbestos to be completely sure of its presence or lack of presence in your home. Here is what you can expect from an asbestos inspection.

What to Expect from an Asbestos Inspection

  • Minimized risk of exposure: Whether we find asbestos in your home or not, our certified inspectors will always follow strict protocols and wear protective equipment during the asbestos inspection to minimize the risk of exposure.
  • Visual survey: The first step of an asbestos inspection will be completing a visual survey of your property. Our inspectors will look for common asbestos-containing materials, including popcorn ceiling spray coatings, floor tiles, insulation, pipe coverings, HVAC duct wrap, and drywall. These materials most commonly contained asbestos before 1985.
  • Sampling and testing: The next step of our asbestos inspection will be to collect samples of any of the aforementioned materials. We will then send these samples to a certified lab for testing to determine the presence of asbestos.
  • Follow-up services: If we discover the presence of asbestos in your home, we can provide the necessary asbestos removal services to safely and effectively remove the harmful materials from your home to reduce the risk of exposure and related health concerns.
