Most of the town is mid-century to newer single-family construction, with the older sections clustered around downtown and the original Eagle Rock community. Many Wendell homeowners moved out from Raleigh for the lot sizes and the price-per-square-foot, and the call patterns we see reflect that — younger families, longer commutes, more deferred maintenance on items like crawlspace vapor barriers and HVAC condensate management.
The master-planned communities along Wendell Falls Parkway and the corridors east of US 264 are largely 2010s-and-newer production builds. They are not asbestos-prone, but their tightly sealed envelopes produce condensation-driven mold in attic decking, behind shower walls, and inside wall cavities adjacent to exterior corners.
